Starting the Final Hurdle (Game Design Module Final Project)
Now with our assessment out of the way, we have finally been given the next and final stage of the module where we have to fully make our own game and project. Now initially I thought this would be a place where we could flex our creativity and use the muscle in my head good use, but that wasn’t entirely the case. We have been given a theme to describe the work we need to make, which is fairly normal but personally I wanted to be not have the restriction but it is understandable as this is common in most places of practice when making a game, both in social spaces such as Game Jams or even in the industry.
Another thing when it came to the work that is produced we have to either decide to make it a team effort or go about it solo, which I’m still not sure where I stand on this, but contemplating doing it by myself as there is a lot of things (mainly coding) that I would have to learn independantly to be better off and actually producing my own designs as a prototype
Our theme is Impulse
Impulse has a few meanings and in terms of design we can manipulate it however we want as long as use it as a core concept, which I’ve already come up with a few ideas
It’s funny because whilst I was thinking of ideas during the class Hope Caton mentioned shopping immediately just after I wrote it down on my notebook, but because she mentioned it I don’t feel like using it that concept anymore.
For our final assessment in the module we have to produce a couple of things
A Games Design Document
A Prototype alongside any artifacts
Now I need some time to consider ideas, I’ll BE BACK WHEN I HAVE SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
