Research Practice

This module was created in order for us as a class to learn the professional world of research in general and how it can work in our favour especially with certain core topics. There is a lot of raw data out there in the world and I can’t just make my design because I want to, it needs supportive documentation to help emphasise why the design methodology would be good for an overall concept.

So for my research topic, I was heavy on exploring new peripherals of interaction for games, as it turns out, using Haptic Technology wasn’t a new concept as much to my disappointment, but I also thought about ways in how they could influence the experience of games and that’s where I pinpointed my thesis. Can video game enhance playing a game?

This paper goes over the various types of haptics and how we relate them, and how effective it can be. I enjoyed making this paper as it added more perspective and necessary knowledge of my own design principles. I have to focus and define my ideas.
