Other pieces or Ideas

Just some extended research which also gave way to some interesting ideas in general. Super Mario 64 which is a classic game beloved by many including me presented an interesting idea for this project as thinking about it, the game is a glorified gallery which can be interacted with by having the player jump through paintings to get to the levels.

Super Mario 64

I thought this could be something interesting that doors for the museum could be paintings, but in order to do that I would have to clearly identify it, but thinking about it, how did player learn how to do so back then? Regardless it is an interesting interaction for the Museum as a whole.

Meta Quest VR Animation Player

Another thing that I found interesting idea I found is when messing around with the Meta Quest VR animation player, as my project is leaning into VR applications, the interesting interactiion is that the player involves the controllers where the controls for the Animation player are shown in a box with a couple of options at the bottom of the box presening traditional streaming controls such as Play, Rewind, Next etc. but interestingly this box is glued to your left hand controller and rotates the alongside with the controller current rotation, which is so interesting, but the right handed controller legit blew my mind, as the in order to play the piece you were watching, you had to physically move the right controller close to a button that was in the box which is such an interesting a unique function to thing about. Although I can see it’s niche application if considered for this project, it would be great to fill in details that are normally found in museums where they present little descriptive pieces of text to occupany an artefact to give it more context with eithe the left of right controllers and perhaps activate the game through this method.

Otherworld

Participating in a virtual reality game world with a Hub world was an incredibly fascinating experience. Stepping into the Hub world felt like entering a gateway to limitless possibilities where the movement in the world was done locamotively (player points to where they want their next location to be, presses the button, goes to that position). It was a vibrant hub with avatars of fellow users in the IRL facility. There weres sections where individuals have to entere a gateways that have certain games relative to the theme of the gateway (in this case, text above it) and then being able to choose from them.

The variety of games accessible through this Hub world ranged from futuristic sci-fi shooters to small immersive fantasy quests. The Hub world acted as a gathering place, a social hub where players could connect with each other and provided a sense of community, elevating the overall experience. Exploring new worlds within the VR game was an adventure like no other, drawing me deeper into the immersive landscape and leaving me eagerly anticipating my next virtual journey. For this project perhaps, there is method of making a hub world for the Museum and players can then access different rooms which relay certain artefacts.
